Today was the day from hell!  We had a never-ending line of fairly rude customers, and only half a staff.  Kara (the ever responsible and intelligent person that she is) didn’t bother showing up for work, and no one thought that I should know that Heather was asked to come in an hour late, despite the schedule not having been changed.  When Alec brought out a second cart full of books for us to call, I threatened that if he brought out another book that I would start throwing them at him!  Not that we had any time to call customers about their books anyways… I just tripped over the damned carts all night!  Oh, and Jan took me off the schedule a week early.  She decided me asking for the 7th off was me telling her that the 7th was my last day!  So that may be a week’s worth of pay that I will lose out on, and I really can’t afford that!  I got home tonight, only to be greeted by a stack of bills I can’t afford to pay, and realized I still have to buy a wedding present this week!  How am I going to pull this off?? Can I curl up and cry now?

Did I mention the lecture I got from my mom when she got home the other day?  Within 10 minutes of her walking in the door after a week at the beach, she started lecturing me about eating in my room.  Where does she want me to eat?  Every time I walk upstairs my “darling” sister gives me a dirty look, letting me know I’m not welcome upstairs.  So other than taking a shower or getting on line, I try not to go up there.  So where am I supposed to eat???

I think I’m going to go find a book, some bath salts, and take a long hot bath.  Things will look better after a nice warm soak… won’t they?
