Writers!

It is an act of bravery to commit your thoughts to type and send it off to an unknown place.  What will happen?  What will they say about it?  Will they even respond?

We understand.  We're writers too.  Our critics are just as loud and just as demeaning.  We recommend locking them in closets when you send your writing to us.  We are careful when giving feedback to fledgling writers.  We will always try to give feedback surrounded by respect and love.  We will respond to every `message received.  We will also publish writing anonymously upon request.

We only ask that you write about things that are real for you.

How to write with us:
We will take original stories for each of the recurring articles listed on the submissions page. Even if someone else has submitted something, don't let that discourage you from sending us your writing!  Since the focus of this magazine currently is story telling, we are not publishing poetry at this time.

Please keep your writing to 2-4 pages. Remember your audience:  women who may be trying to read your article while they're at work or have demanding families at home who want to get on the Internet also.

Please email your writing to "submissions at berealmag dot com". If you want a chance at being in next month's issue, we need your writing by the first of the previous month.  Please put the article you're writing in the SUBJECT line of your email.  If it's for the theme, put the theme name in your subject line.

Here's how the story goes:
1) You send us your creation by the right date. These are the right dates:

Issue Due Date For Submissions

Issue Three

April 1, 2001

Issue Four

July 1, 2001

Issue Five

October 1, 2001

Issue Six

January 1, 2001

2) We review and edit what you send us. If we want to use it in the upcoming month's issue, we'll get it back to you by the 15th of the month following the deadline date.

3) You get to choose whether you like what we've recommended and changed, make some changes to your work, and send it back to us. We'll give you a week so please send it back by the 21st! If you completely, utterly disagree about how we've changed your masterpiece, it's ok. Send us a note saying "No Way Jose" and we'll consider publishing it anyway. We understand. We're writers too.  We reserve the right to make minor spelling and grammatical changes to your writing without notifying you.

4) It's still your writing. We don't suddenly own it. We will keep your submission on file and assume that unless you say otherwise, you're OK with us using it sometime in the future. If you'd like us to NOT assume that, just send a message to "submissions at berealmag dot com" and we'll forget we ever saw it. Well, we'll try.

5) Right now we have a dream to create an on-line magazine that helps women feel better about themselves, but we have no money.  That means we're willing to share our dream and share no money with you.  We want this to change soon!

6) Please keep in mind that if you don't submit anything, you have rejected yourself! Please, fabulous creators, give us a chance to look at your work!

If you would like to be involved, or like to submit something, email...you guessed it! "submissions at berealmag dot com".
