It Will All Make Sense Later
by Rebecca Carlisle
One must always act from the heart, from the guts, from the deepest places, from
intuition.
Believe in what you are doing. Do not care if later you will find that
you were wrong. You are wrong all the time. You are wrong if you
don't dare to do what you must do. It doesn't make one bit of difference
if you make a mistake. Who cares? Dare, dare, dare. Say the
outrageous things you don't wish to say. Say them all. Nothing will
happen if you keep your lips shut, but maybe a huge opportunity will arise if
you open your mouth and let the truth out. Perhaps more truth will flow
behind it once you begin. Maybe the truth is stuck inside and you must
embarrass yourself thoroughly before it can be released and freed.
Maybe embarrassment is just a weak little shield designed to keep the faint of
heart from daring to seek out their true selves.
Missteps and mistakes and fumbles, foibles, stumbles, falls. Perhaps
as you right yourself after one of these activities you will see the world anew.
See something from down below that you may have missed completely had your head
not hit the ground. Pay attention to everything around you. Nothing
is without meaning. Nothing happens accidentally. There is something
to be learned from each tiny detail in life. Everything is inextricably
linked to everything else. Sometimes it takes years to piece together
fragments of life. Sometimes things take on a different appearance after
one little linking event takes place. Then all of life comes folding in on
you like a perfectly sewn quilt instead of rags and patches and bits of wildly
differing fabrics.
The patterns emerge before your eyes and what made no
real sense before, suddenly is starkly startlingly unblinkingly obvious.
Once you see it, you cannot deny it any longer.
