What Does Be Real Mean To You?
Words from the fabulous souls who participated in the pre-launch survey.

Just showing up for life and being who you really are.  A path of finding my complete self.   - Marli
To me, "Be real" means to be true to myself, my beliefs, my heritage, and my tribe, without compromising my identity. It requires self-knowledge, self-discovery, daily check-ins and evaluations, and the keen ability to look denial square in the face and denounce it whole-heartedly. Being real is about acceptance and celebration of self, without regret.
  - Pamela
Being down to earth and honest. Living a balanced life...not buying into convention - Marsi  Being true to yourself and others. Standing firm against the pushing and shoving from society. - Bev
To be the person that you FEEL inside. - Kara
"Being Real" to me means being honest with myself so that I may be authentic with others.  It means honoring my feelings, thoughts, joys, sorrows, experiences, and growth without judgment.  I think it is difficult being true to ourselves with all of these outside influences telling us what we "should" be doing, thinking, feeling; but I also believe that if we truly listen to our inner voices and trust ourselves, we can cultivate authenticity and a sense of being true to ourselves in our lives. - Rebecca Being real means admitting you're human.  It means admitting to others, but most especially to your self that you you're not perfect, but also that you are worth something and have something to share with the world.  Being real means making the choices in your life for you, not your parents, spouse, fourth grade teacher, etc.  It also means accepting that you change and with that so will decisions in your life, and realizing that making those changes isn't signaling failure, but growth.  Being real is making those changes to fit who you ARE, not who you were or who someone thought you were. - Kristin
Being real means not having to justify who you are to anyone.  The ability to be accepted and accepting of anyone else unconditionally. Being real is not being pretentious, being content with what you have and not with what you want. - Lisa
"Be Real"" means you are responsible for owning the  actions you take, words that you say, and the impact that you have on your surroundings  - Kimberly Being whole.  Not conforming if you don't feel like it or conforming if you want to!  Being real to me means honesty--with yourself and with others.  It also means being ugly sometimes.  - Diana
Living Mindfully, embracing Life, being non-judgmental. - Maria
To watch my newborn niece sleep with her arms open above her head, not trying to close herself in and protect herself.  - Julie How the "worst" things that happen in life can turn out to be the biggest blessings. Honoring the true, spiritual nature within all of us, and expressing all the facets of oneself - Heather
To "Be Real" to me means, that you do your best to juggle all that life throws at you. But at the same time you are able to take time for yourself as a woman.  To be able to find a balance between the rest of the world and yourself. - Christina
